It is a neverending challenge and we are grateful for the many many volunteers and donors who make our Holiday Food Distribution possible every year Holiday Events Benefited the FreestoreFoodbank. When you consider that 45,256 persons in six days equates to 7,543 persons each day, it s an amazing feat to pull off, even in the best of conditions! The number of persons receiving food this year was consistent with that of last year, which was the largest in history It is nearly double the number of persons (25,331) we fed during the holidays five years ago, in We are working diligently, along with our network of nonprofit partners, to increase our capacity to meet the ongoing demand for emergency food throughout the Tri-state. We also appreciate the understanding of donors and others who may have encountered congestion or delays. We appreciate the patience of all those who waited in long lines to receive their food.
